My next guitar?

I think my next guitar is going to be Reverend's Pete Anderson Signature:

Reviews have been great and the price is right. Only problem is that they're hard to find.

The other alternative is Peerless Guitars which seem only to be available in the US through GUITARS-N-JAZZ.

Found another souce: Archtop Jazz Guitars (NJ)

Lesson Notes from 4/21/2010

Still working on Blue Bossa (adding melody to chords). Also picked up a couple of random neat things:

A cool diminished-sounding lick:

Also a standard jazz chord progression (I-VI-II-V)

G Diminished Scale and other things

Notes from previous lessons that I want to hang onto.

G Diminished 4-note-per-string:

Diatonic 7 chords in Cmajor with arpeggios:

Version 1:

Version 2:

Version 3:

Version 4:

Blue Bossa

The first jazz piece that I'm working on. Sheet music courtesy of wikifonia. A nice intro lesson to this can be found here:

About this blog

First blog entry:

This blog was created to track resources and activites in my ongoing learning of the guitar. I've been playing on and off for over 20 years but really have gotten back into it in the last two. The internet was actally a huge part of that due to the fact that there are now so many excellent resources out there for guitar and general music instruction. In addition, I am taking lessons to learn more about jazz and strengthen my knowledge of music theory and will be tracking my notes from those lessons here as well.

So this blog is mostly for personal use and will be written as such but if any of this is useful to others then all the better!
